VETERAN wingman Ronald Tubid faces a possible suspension following the flagrant foul penalty 2 he committed against Chris Newsome in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup game between San Miguel and Meralco on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The 35-year-old Tubid has been summoned to appear at the Commissioner’s Office on Tuesday to explain his side on the fourth-quarter incident that left the Meralco sophomore with a welt on his right eye.
Tubid is certain to be slapped with a fine and risks a suspension, depending on the meeting with Commissioner Chito Narvasa and a review by the league’s technical staff, a source said.
Although apologetic for what happened, the pride of Iloilo City said he’s ready to face the consequences of his act.
“It is what it is kung i-fine ako ng PBA. Susunod naman ako sa rules ng PBA. Sorry,” he said after the game which the Beermen won, 99-92.
